The Junior Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of facility equipment and infrastructure. This position focuses on performing routine inspections, troubleshooting minor mechanical and electrical issues, and assisting senior technicians with repairs and preventive maintenance tasks. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying potential problems before they escalate, thereby minimizing downtime and maintaining a safe working environment.

The Junior Maintenance Technician will contribute to maintaining compliance with safety standards and operational protocols. Ultimately, this position supports the overall efficiency and reliability of the facility’s systems, enabling uninterrupted business operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a technical or vocational training program related to maintenance or industrial technology.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems.
• Certification in OSHA safety standards or similar workplace safety training.
• Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities support role.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure optimal functionality.
• Assist senior maintenance staff in diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize operational disruptions.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.

The Junior Maintenance Technician utilizes mechanical and electrical knowledge daily to perform inspections and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
