BUILDING SERVICES WORKER I
Position Summary:
The Building Services Worker I is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety of university buildings and grounds, primarily during night shifts.

Monday‑Friday, 4:00 p.m.‑12:00 a.m. (night shift); occasional Saturdays, Sundays, or after hours as needed; optional on‑call rotation - Salary: $35,200.00

- Minimum:
High school diploma or equivalent - Preferred:
Availability for the specified night shift; willingness to work weekends or after hours if required
- Sweep, dust, wash, wet/dry mop, light floor maintenance, and vacuum as needed to maintain cleanliness of campus floors (30 % of time)
- Collect and remove trash and recyclables and clean/disinfect counters, restroom fixtures, equipment, and furnishings in laboratories, offices, classrooms, restrooms, clinics, and recreational facilities (30 % of time)
- Restock restrooms and maintain adequate supplies in janitorial closets (30 % of time)
- Clean up bodily fluid or perform specialized viral/bacterial disinfection with a blood‑borne pathogen kit; replace light bulbs not more than 8 ft. from the floor on a ladder (10 % of time)
- Assist in securing/unlocking university buildings, delivering/receiving/transporting supplies, and performing other related cleaning duties as required
- Available to work the specified shift
- Available to work Saturdays, Sundays, or after hours as needed
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships
- Lift up to 40 lbs
- Push or pull custodial carts up to 40 lbs
- Frequently bend, squat, lift, kneel, and work with hands above head
- Work from 8‑ft. ladders
- Prolonged walking to and from buildings
- Move throughout buildings and campus, including climbing stairs and riding elevators, to perform work
