Maintenance Inventory Planner
The Maintenance Inventory Planner supports the General Maintenance Manager with maintenance MRO ordering, parts inventory control, and maintenance work order data entry. This role helps ensure required parts and materials are on hand to support planned and reactive maintenance work across the plant.
General Duties and ResponsibilitiesInventory Support
- Assist with maintaining maintenance MRO inventory, including spare parts, consumables, and supplies.
- Perform physical inventory counts and enter data into the inventory/work order system.
- Help identify obsolete, excess, or low-stock parts and flag them to the General Maintenance Manager.
- Assist with organizing and labeling parts storage areas.
MRO Ordering Support
- Create and submit requests for maintenance-related parts and materials as directed.
- Communicate with purchasing and vendors to check on order status or resolve basic delivery issues.
- Receive incoming parts orders, verify against packing slips, and stock accordingly.
Work Order & System Support
- Assist with entering, updating, and closing work orders in the maintenance system.
- Help maintain accurate records of parts usage tied to work orders.
- Run basic reports from the maintenance system as requested.
Support
- Assist the General Maintenance Manager and team with other maintenance-related tasks as needed.
- Support HR and safety procedures within the department.
Miscellaneous
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- Prior experience with inventory, parts, or warehouse work preferred; maintenance environment experience a plus.
- License / Credentials / Certifications
- Forklift license (desirable, training available)
Skills / Specialized Knowledge / Abilities
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications:
Word, Excel. - Ability to prioritize tasks and follow through independently.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with data entry.
- Ability to work with purchasing staff and vendors professionally.
- Ability to enforce, relay, and follow company standards.
- Teamwork, face-to-face communication, dependable.
Working Hours / Environment
Tools and Equipment
- Computer, general office equipment, cell phone, basic hand tools (including but not limited to scissors, snips, box knife), electric tools. Appropriate PPE will be assigned as required. This may include safety glasses, gloves, hat or hairnet, hearing protection.
- Personal computer, copier, hand and electrical tools, scissor lift.

Physical and Mental Demands
- Ability to stand & work on concrete for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit at a desk/workstation for long periods of time.
- Ability to work at a computer terminal for long periods of time.
- Ability to squat, bend at waste, kneel, etc.
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in repairing machines.
- Ability to lift & carry up to 50 pounds on occasion, using proper lifting techniques & processes.
- Ability to compare, problem solve, analyze, instruct, interpret, etc.
- Ability to speak & hear employees in problematic situations (loud environments).
- May require the ability to work at heights exceeding 50 feet.
