** Position Summary
** The Part-Time Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment for Club members, staff, families, and visitors. The Custodian will perform routine cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the Club, with a primary focus on classrooms, restrooms, kitchen areas, the gymnasium, offices, entrances, hallways, and other common and program spaces.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
**** Classrooms, Offices, Entrances, and Common Areas
*** Sweep, mop, and/or vacuum classroom floors.
* Wipe down tables, desks, chairs, and other surfaces.
* Remove trash from classrooms and common areas.
* Empty trash cans and place garbage in designated collection areas.
* Keep assigned areas neat, clean, and organized.
* Clean interior glass doors, entryways, and other assigned glass surfaces as needed.
* Sweep, mop, and/or vacuum offices, entrances, hallways, and other common areas.
** Restrooms
* ** Clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, countertops, mirrors, and floors.
* Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles and fixtures.
* Remove restroom trash.
* Refill toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, and other necessary supplies.
* Report plumbing problems, leaks, or other restroom concerns to the supervisor.
** Kitchen
* ** Clean and sanitize kitchen counters, tables, sinks, and other surfaces.
* Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
* Remove trash and replace trash liners.
* Clean and sanitize frequently touched areas.
* Ensure the kitchen remains clean and ready for staff and Club activities.
* Report maintenance, equipment, or sanitation concerns to the supervisor.

Gymnasium
* Sweep, dust mop, and clean gym floors using appropriate cleaning methods and products.
* Remove trash and debris from the gymnasium, bleachers or seating areas, and surrounding spaces.
* Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, railings, benches, and other frequently used surfaces.
* Clean bleachers and seating areas as needed.
* Keep gym entrances, sidelines, storage areas, and other assigned areas neat and free of debris.
* Immediately report spills, damage, unsafe conditions, or maintenance concerns.
* Use cleaning products and equipment appropriate for the gym floor and take precautions to prevent damage.
** General Responsibilities
*** Maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the assigned Club.
* Follow proper procedures when using cleaning products and equipment.
* Ensure cleaning products, chemicals, equipment, and other potentially hazardous materials are properly labeled, secured, and stored in designated areas inaccessible to Club members.
* Notify the supervisor when cleaning supplies or paper products are running low.
* Immediately report spills, safety hazards, damage, or other facility concerns.
* Complete assigned cleaning duties efficiently and within the established work schedule.
* Follow all Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana policies and safety procedures.
* Perform periodic deep cleaning of assigned areas as scheduled, including baseboards, interior windows and glass, doors, walls, vents, and other surfaces as needed.
* Assist with cleaning before and after special events, meetings, or Club activities as assigned.
* Perform other reasonable custodial and facility-related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or designated supervisor.## Qualifications
** Qualifications
* ** Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
* Must be dependable and punctual.
* Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks.
* Must demonstrate attention to detail.
* Must be comfortable working around children and youth in a professional environment.
* Must maintain appropriate professional conduct while working in the Club.
** Physical Requirements
*** Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed.
* Sweep, mop, vacuum, and perform routine cleaning activities.
* Lift and carry cleaning supplies and trash bags.
* Push and pull cleaning equipment.
* Work with cleaning and sanitizing products in accordance with safety instructions.
** Work Expectations
