The role:
The MRE Supervisor is a working supervisor responsible for supporting equipment reliability, maximizing asset uptime, and leading day-to-day maintenance and reliability execution at our food manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution site. This role is both hands‑on and supervisory, directly performing maintenance work while guiding a team of maintenance technicians to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and operational standards.
The MRE Supervisor will help execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs, troubleshoot equipment issues, support root cause problem‑solving, and ensure maintenance activities are aligned with safety, food safety, quality, and operational excellence objectives.
How you'll make an impact:
Maintenance Execution & Team Supervision- Lead, assign, and participate in daily maintenance activities, including reactive repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment inspections
- Serve as a working supervisor by performing hands‑on mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance as needed
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, food safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Support daily work planning and scheduling to ensure timely completion of work orders, PMs, and urgent maintenance needs
- Help manage parts usage, spare parts organization, and maintenance supplies to support equipment uptime
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed for repairs, inspections, or specialized maintenance work
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA, GMP, SQF, and company safety and food safety standards
- Maintain accurate CMMS records, work orders, equipment history, and maintenance documentation
- Execute and support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Review equipment performance, downtime trends, and recurring failures to help identify improvement opportunities
- Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and help implement corrective actions
- Support tracking of maintenance KPIs such as PM completion, downtime, work order backlog, and equipment reliability
- Recommend and assist with improvements related to equipment reliability, process efficiency, safety, and energy usage
- Partner with the Maintenance & Reliability Manager or site leadership to prioritize maintenance work and reliability initiatives
- Partner with production, sanitation, FSQA, EHS, and operations teams to support daily execution and long‑term operational goals
- Participate in small equipment upgrade projects, reliability improvements, and automation‑related initiatives
- Support accurate equipment records, spare parts lists, PM procedures, and standard work documentation
- Contribute to cross‑functional improvement projects, including Value Creation Process (VCP) initiatives focused on reducing downtime, waste, and cost
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, technician efficiency, and equipment performance
- Promote and enforce safe work practices, including lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space, PPE, and other applicable safety requirements
