Description:
You will be an Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (AGSE) (Aircraft Mechanic II) for our Special Operations Forces Global Logistic Support Services (SOF GLSS) team, based in Crestview, FL. Our team is responsible for modifying military aircraft and ground vehicles to meet the evolving operational needs of the SOF community. The AGSE Aircraft Mechanic II is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (AGSE).
What You Will Be Doing As an AGSE Aircraft Mechanic II you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and operating AGSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation. Diagnosing mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications. Removing, disassembling, repairing, cleaning, treating for corrosion, assembling, and reinstalling AGSE accessories and components. Providing dispatch service for AGSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flight operations.
Maintenance & Repair:
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including disassembling, repairing, cleaning, and reassembling AGE components. Perform proof/load test operations on hydraulic jacks, forklifts, cranes, man lifts, lifting slings, cradles, shackles and other associated lifting equipment as required. Troubleshooting:
Diagnose malfunctions in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, AC and mechanical systems using manufacturers manuals, drawings, specifications, installation layouts, sketches and verbal or written instructions and diagnostic equipment like multimeters. Safety & Compliance:
Inspect equipment to ensure it meets safety standards and handle hazardous materials/waste according to environmental regulations. Operational Support:
Position and operate flight line equipment to support aircraft, including towing, powering, and cooling. Documentation:

This position is in Crestview, FL. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access and is in direct support of a U.S. government contract that requires a company-sponsored clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum five (5) years experience as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Technician/Mechanic. Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, air conditioning systems and electrical circuits. Proficiency with hand tools and electronic diagnostic equipment. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair complex equipment failures. Work Environment: AGE specialists typically will be operating in both hangar/shop environments and directly on flight lines to support all LM operations.
Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, and must have an interim secret clearance prior to start so therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen.
Desired
Skills:
Ability to perform periodic and annual inspections and maintenance of equipment. Ability to prepare required records and reports on all assigned equipment, identify and order parts required, and provide assistance in training employees in areas of specialties.
Experience with Hydraulic carts and Oil carts. Must be able to work safely in a team environment. Ability to work in varied, often outdoor, environments.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
