General Maintenance Technician Position SummaryWalmart is hiring General Maintenance Technicians to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all commercial equipment supporting our Walmart stores. The technician will develop preventive maintenance schedules, complete assigned PMs within the specified timeframe, and train store associates on equipment care and cleaning.
What You’ll Do- Perform minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment)
- Complete routine maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality
- Manage work orders and maintenance schedules, including required written and electronic documentation (expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs, etc.)
- 3 years’ experience in maintenance
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
- Eligibility for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Experience in maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment, etc.)
- Strong customer service orientation and clear, respectful communication
- Personal accountability and effective time management to meet commitments
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and prioritize using sound judgment
