Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of construction projects from preconstruction and estimating through project closeout. This role manages project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, field personnel, and client relationships to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Occasional travel may be required depending on project and client needs.
Primary Responsibilities- Manage all phases of retail tenant improvement projects from estimating and bidding through punch list completion and closeout.
- Prepare and review project estimates, budgets, schedules, and cost projections.
- Qualify, negotiate, and contract with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate procurement of materials and manage delivery schedules.
- Oversee project mobilization, construction activities, and schedule compliance.
- Manage field superintendents, project coordinators, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Monitor project costs and maintain budget controls throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, landlords, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Identify and help resolve project challenges while maintaining clear communication with all parties involved.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
- Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience.
- Minimum 3 years of retail tenant improvement experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and project delivery processes.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel as needed.
