Position Summary

The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, including budgeting, estimating, scheduling, subcontractor management, client communication, and overall project execution. This role will oversee a variety of project types including ground-up construction, retail tenant improvements, open-store remodels, and commercial buildouts. Ground-up construction experience is required. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Crestwood, Illinois.

Occasional travel is required based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage construction projects from estimating and mobilization through project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost controls.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts.
  • Lead project teams including field superintendents and project coordinators.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage project profitability and overall client satisfaction.
  • Prepare project status reports and communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of construction project management experience.
  • Proven ground-up construction experience required.
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
  • Experience with construction management software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
