Retail & Store Manager
Position Summary
Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores, providing feedback, and communicating store operations, technology initiatives, merchandising and company direction. Introduce and lead company change efforts, provide clear expectations and guidance, and model exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
Manage customer service initiatives, resolve complaints, develop and implement action plans, and drive high-quality customer experience. Drive sales and financial performance by reviewing and evaluating profit & loss statements, budgeting, forecasting and controlling expenses, monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved.
Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing associate contributions, and promoting a belonging mindset. Coordinate and oversee job‑related activities, build accountability, measure progress, identify improvement opportunities, and promote continuous learning and adaptability.
Ensure compliance with company policies and support the Open Door Policy, ethics and integrity, and Walmart’s regenerative mission. Build high‑performing teams, respect individual differences, and create a culture of belonging for all associates.
Act with integrity, serve customers, deliver results while putting the customer first, and make data‑driven decisions that balance short‑ and long‑term priorities for all stakeholders. Strive for excellence by embracing curiosity, taking calculated risks, encouraging learning from mistakes, and adopting new technologies.
Compensation and BenefitsAnnual salary range: $65,000.00 - $. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation may include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) and Complex Structure based on external factors.

- 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms:
Successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training. - For facilities that sell only ammunition:
Current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility. - Completion of all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing responsibilities.
