Nightingale at Stonegate is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance operations of our Skilled Nursing Facility. The ideal candidate will have strong building maintenance experience, a thorough understanding of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) operations, and a commitment to providing a safe, comfortable, and compliant environment for our residents and staff.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising all maintenance functions throughout the facility. This position ensures the building, equipment, grounds, and life safety systems are maintained in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, while supporting the facility's mission of delivering exceptional resident care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the daily operations of the Maintenance Department.

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.

• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and mechanical systems.

• Conduct routine facility inspections and address maintenance issues promptly.

• Manage work order systems and prioritize maintenance requests.

• Maintain compliance with Life Safety Code requirements and healthcare regulations.

• Coordinate repairs, renovations, and projects with outside contractors and vendors.

• Oversee facility grounds maintenance, snow removal, and environmental safety.

• Maintain department budgets, inventory, and purchasing of maintenance supplies and equipment.

• Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response activities.

• Ensure all maintenance documentation, inspections, and logs are completed accurately and timely.

• Collaborate with department leaders to support resident satisfaction and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience required

• Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or healthcare maintenance experience strongly preferred

• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance

• Understanding of healthcare regulations, Life Safety Code requirements, and regulatory survey processes

• Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate staff

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

• Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to emergencies
