A floor tech, also known as a floor care technician or a custodian, is an important member of the Indy Fiber team responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of floors in various facilities.

• Stripping, waxing, and buffing floors
• Cleaning and sanitizing floors and carpets
• Dusting baseboards, vents, and other surfaces
• Operating floor machines, such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet extractors
• Maintaining supplies and inventory
• Following safety procedures

• Cleaning restrooms, lobbies, and other areas
• Emptying trash and recyclable bins
• Responding to requests for technical assistance
• Performing minor maintenance and repairs
• Assisting with moving furniture and equipment

• Knowledge of floor care cleaning techniques
• Ability to use floor care equipment correctly and safely
• Attention to detail and organization
• Strong communication and customer service orientation
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Physical stamina and strength

Floor techs deal with a range of challenges daily, including:

• Working in potentially hazardous conditions
• Handling and using hazardous chemicals
• Maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene
