Facilities Maintenance

This role supports facilities maintenance across a metals manufacturing environment by assisting with general upkeep, cleaning, basic repairs, and light landscaping. You help keep the facility safe, organized, and presentable by performing a variety of hands-on tasks such as painting, trimming bushes, and maintaining common areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
• Paint lines, doors, and other designated surfaces to maintain clear markings and a clean appearance.
• Perform paint preparation work, including surface cleaning and basic prep before painting.
• Trim bushes, hedges, and landscaping areas to keep exterior grounds neat and well maintained.
• Carry out landscape maintenance activities as directed, including light groundskeeping duties.
• Organize file cabinets, closets, and storage spaces to improve accessibility and orderliness.
• Clean facility areas, including common spaces, work areas, and restrooms, following janitorial standards.
• Support basic facility repairs, including minor fixes that help maintain a safe and functional environment.
• Change light bulbs and assist with simple electrical-related tasks under appropriate guidance.
• Provide general assistance to maintenance technicians on facility maintenance and repair projects.
• Help maintain HVAC and other building systems by performing basic support tasks as directed.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in a metals manufacturing environment.
• Work scheduled hours on first shift and participate in overtime, including occasional Saturdays, as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience in facilities maintenance or facility maintenance support.
• Experience in residential maintenance or similar hands-on maintenance work.
• Ability to perform basic facility repairs and general maintenance tasks.
• Capability to paint lines, doors, and other surfaces with attention to detail.
• Comfort with cleaning duties and janitorial responsibilities in a facility setting.
• Ability to safely change light bulbs and assist with simple electrical-related tasks.
• Experience with trimming hedges, bushes, and performing landscape maintenance.
• Willingness to work in a metals manufacturing environment and follow safety protocols.
• Reliability in working first shift hours and occasional overtime, including some Saturdays.
• Ability to stay organized while handling multiple tasks such as cleaning, painting, and maintenance support.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract position based out of Crystal Lake, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
