Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Summary
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll lead dynamic maintenance teams in the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of all critical equipment across the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse. You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring smooth operations, minimizing mechanical downtime, and maximizing production efficiency.
What You’ll Do- Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance, machine repairs, and train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
- Maintenance Planning & Scheduling: Ensure timely maintenance scheduling in collaboration with Production and develop effective maintenance systems (TPM, SOPs, safety).
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Develop and maintain KPIs, provide regular status reports to maintenance management.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure tasks comply with USDA regulations and keep accurate records of maintenance work and inventory.
- Crisis Management & Continuity: Assume responsibility for required tasks when key personnel are absent.
- People Management: Drive a positive employee experience through development, coaching, and fostering a collaborative workplace.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and two or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience leading training, coaching, or mentoring of less experienced staff, or managing a process or project.
- Ability to lead problem‑solving and troubleshooting for high‑level process issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Availability to work long hours and weekends as required.
- Relocation package available (yes).
- Advanced technical skills in ammonia refrigeration, high‑pressure boiler, compressed air, PLCs, instrumentation, and mechanical engineering.
- Expertise in preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, inventory, and scheduling software.
- Strong leadership skills: conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision making, empowerment, and delegation.
- Good planning and prioritization; ability to work well with others in a fast‑paced environment.
- Respectful, approachable, and team‑oriented, building strong relationships.
- Bi‑lingual preferred.
Perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, climbing, and handling heavy objects as required for maintenance operations. Work environment includes noise, vibrations, and hazardous materials typical of a food manufacturing plant.
