Purpose
Ensures reliability-driven maintenance activities deliver value to the business by optimizing resources, scheduling, and maintenance strategies, while aligning maintenance priorities with operational needs to drive efficiency and reduce downtime.
Primary Responsibilities- Owns and manages the maintenance budget to ensure the effective use of resources.
- Challenges and prioritizes daily maintenance tasks to align with business goals and operational needs.
- Reviews and screens work requests for value, quality, appropriate resourcing, and prioritization to ensure essential tasks are executed.
- Provides coaching and guidance to operators to enable them to troubleshoot and resolve problems independently, while creating high-quality model work requests.
- Collaborates with Maintenance Supervisor(s) and Maintenance Planner(s) to ensure prioritization of work orders meets both operational and maintenance requirements.
- Ensures that Preventive Maintenance Plans (PPM) are given appropriate priority and executed according to the maintenance schedules.
- Works closely with the Maintenance Scheduler and Production Scheduling to align maintenance activities with production schedules, minimize downtime, and maximize efficiency.
- Develops and adjusts maintenance forecasts, as well as weekly and daily schedules, to meet changing operational demands.
- Ensures timely and proper closure of work orders in accordance with technical specifications and financial controls.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in maintenance management, operations, or a related field within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to interface effectively with other work processes and functional roles.
- Strong understanding of business value drivers and operational requirements, with the ability to align maintenance activities to broader business goals.
- Proficiency in using CMMS modules to track, prioritize, and report maintenance activities.
- Experience with maintenance budgeting, including cost control and resource allocation.
- Knowledge of material kitting and staging to optimize the maintenance workflow.
- Demonstrates strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate maintenance priorities and address challenges.
- Comfortable challenging non-value-added activities to drive process improvements and enhance operational efficiencies.
