Commercial Cleaner

Job Summary Keep buildings in a clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.

Job Duties /Functions (Not all inclusive)
Ensure a clean working environment in both plants & office buildings.

Sweep and mop floors, scrub and wax floors as required.

Clean sinks, toilet bowls, fountains, and other fixtures.

Vacuum offices, entry areas, halls and other areas as required.

Collect and dispose of trash.

Replenish tissue, towels, soap, and other sanitary stations in restrooms.

Minimal maintenance of the outside grounds (emptying trash, snow removal).Conducts weekly inventory of supplies and equipment needed to maintain sanitation and informs Administrative Assistant of supplies that are needed.

Monitor building premises to ensure occupant and/or visitor safety.

Confer with coworkers to coordinate maintenance or cleaning activities.

Perform any other janitorial work necessary in connection with the site operationU.S. Person Requirement This position is subject to the requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as such, applicants must be a U.S. person defined as a citizen, national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.

Work Experience (years, job type, industry, etc.)1-3 years of experience in commercial cleaning is preferred

Understands the correct methods and best practices for cleaning various surfaces.

Ensures thorough cleaning and sanitation of all areas.

Knowledge of safety protocols in the Manufacturing area and in the handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Ability to identify opportunities for improvement.

Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences in English.

The job requires prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the shift, frequent bending and squatting, manual dexterity to use tools and operate equipment, occasional use of ladders, and lifting 35 lbs.

Work Environment The following work environment characteristics are representative of those a person performing the essential functions of this job will most likely encounter.

Mostly office environment with daily exposure to a manufacturing plant environment which requires the use of personal protective equipment including steel toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Manufacturing areas may be affected by outside temperatures and machining.
