Custodian

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Custodian role located in Cumberland, MD. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of the Salvation Army facilities, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing. Additional duties include taking out trash, restocking supplies, performing light maintenance repairs, and ensuring that the building remains safe and organized. The custodian will report facility issues to the management team and assist with setting up rooms for programs or events as needed.

• Experience in cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing
• Basic knowledge of maintenance and the ability to conduct minor repairs
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow schedules, prioritize tasks, and complete duties efficiently
• Good communication skills and capability to work collaboratively with a team
• Ability to adhere to safety protocols and maintain a secure environment
• Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous custodial experience is a plus
