Maintenance Generalist MG-MG, ALL Shifts, Rvi-Cumming, GA

ALL Shifts are subject to periodic rotation every 8 weeks. Starting Pay Range: $20.15 - $28.85 /hr

Inspects, oils, and greases moving parts of friction surfaces of mechanical equipment such as shaft and motor bearings, sprockets, drive chains, gears, and pulleys by performing the following duties.

• Fills container such as oilcan, grease gun, or tank of lubrication truck with specified lubricant.
• Squirts or pours oil on moving parts and friction surfaces, or into holes, oil cups, or reservoirs.
• Turns oil cup valves to regulate flow of oil to moving parts.
• Forces grease into bearings with grease gun, smears grease on friction surfaces, or packs grease cups by hand.
• Fills wells and sumps of lubricating systems with oil.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Cleans machines, sweeps floors, and transports stock.
• Documents inspections for predictive maintenance scheduling.

• 6 months of work experience in industrial/manufacturing/construction or landscaping environment.

Maintain an updated forklift drivers license (renewable every 3 years).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Must be able to work long hours and tow a charged water hose. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Keep work area clean and free of clutter (housekeeping). Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Use correct tool for each job assignment. Report injury of oneself or coworker to management. Report job hazards immediately and document. Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues. Follow all safety rules and guidelines.

Sunday is a planned downtime primarily for maintenance, housekeeping, and training.

• Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
