Maintenance Assistant

• Demonstrate excellent mechanical skills.
• Understand HVAC systems and perform routine maintenance.
• Replenish and maintain supply levels in work areas.
• Ensure tools, work areas, and equipment are clean, properly stored, and in working order.
• Maintain facility and equipment for resident comfort and convenience.
• Consistently repair equipment and document hazardous conditions.
• Replace light bulbs, exit lights, room call lights, and other necessary fixtures.
• Conduct daily inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
• Enforce established safety practices (OSHA) and maintain organization of the physical plant.
• Assist with general cleaning and maintenance during events and shifts.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance log on all mechanical systems.
• Manage a compliance binder for permits and inspections.
• Utilize an effective work‑order system.
• Participate in in‑service training as required by state regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Submit weekly invoices and spend‑down reports on an Excel spreadsheet and perform other duties as required.

• High School Diploma required.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance and housekeeping practices, regulations, and guidelines governing community maintenance functions.
• Understanding of proper handling of biohazardous waste.
• Competence in performing duties with sound judgment and reporting unusual problems or conditions.
• Valid Driver’s License, preferable a Commercial Driver’s License.

• Physically able to bend, reach, and stand for extended periods.
• Physically able to push, pull, and lift up to 60 lbs at times.
