Facilities Assistant
This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance and administrative duties in the care and maintenance of District facilities, services, buildings and grounds.

- Receives and delivers District and U.S. mail, equipment and supplies as directed.
- Provides assistance to facilities maintenance and custodial personnel as required.
- Prepares classrooms and facilities for special events or activities; moves furniture and sets up tables, chairs, and equipment as necessary.
- Loads and unloads warehouse truck and delivers goods to appropriate departments on campus.
- Performs minor repairs to buildings and equipment; disposes of obsolete or surplus equipment as directed; assembles and installs furniture and equipment as needed.
- Performs routine maintenance duties as assigned; picks up paper and debris.
- Secures facility at completion of assigned schedule; turns lights on and off; unlocks and locks doors and windows; reports sanitary and safety hazards; notifies proper authorities of suspicious persons or situations; returns items to lost and found.
- Maintains routine records and forms such as service and supply requests, and time sheets as required.
- Learn and apply emerging technologies and advances as necessary to perform duties efficiently, organized and timely.
- Participate in District/College efforts to increase the diversity of faculty and staff and to address student achievement gaps; attend and participate in diversity, equity and inclusion trainings and events.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Experience: One year of experience is equivalent to 12 months of full‑time work. Applicable part‑time experience is converted to the full‑time equivalent for the purpose of meeting the minimum requirement.
- Education: 24 units are equal to one year of education. Education must be from a regionally accredited institution and verifiable on an unofficial transcript.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities required for the essential functions listed above.

Skills and Abilities
- Basic methods, tools, materials and equipment used in routine maintenance repair work.
- Requirements for maintaining school buildings in safe, clean and orderly condition.
- Proper methods for storing equipment, materials and supplies.
- Appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment, machines, and vehicles—including forklift, electric cart, truck, drill and hand tools.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Valid driver’s license required; employees driving district‑related activities must certify possession of a valid license and automobile insurance.
