Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Custodial Supervisor on the Gainesville campus. This position requires the supervision of 10 - 20 custodians and is responsible for maintaining the appearance of multiple buildings on campus.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise a 10-15 personnel custodial staff.
  • Assign duties, inspect work, critique and counsel subordinate employees.
  • Manage the custodial operations of multiple buildings which includes floor and carpet maintenance, trash pickup, cleaning of offices, classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, meeting rooms, treatment rooms and common areas.
  • Maintaining custodial equipment and supply levels for buildings to operate.
  • Responsible for coordinating after hours/weekend support that relate to specials events/emergencies.
  • Responsible for outside appearance of assigned buildings.
  • Assists with set up and take down of special events throughout campus.
  • Assist the floor crew as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned or needed to support UNG operations.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of custodial equipment (floor scrubbers, buffers, extraction machines, scissor lifts and wet/dry vacuum).
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper application.
  • Safety practices a must.
  • Ability to perform physical labor to include but not limited to lifting, pushing/pulling objects up to 60 pounds, climbing and working from ladders up to 32 feet tall, and performing manual labor tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • This is a working supervisor position requiring Ability to operate equipment;

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years custodial experience required.
  • Possess a valid State of Georgia Driver's License.
