Job Description SummaryResponsible to ensure the proper efficient operations and maintenance of the mechanical electrical and plumbing systems for the assigned facility. The performance of all necessary maintenance and operational tasks are developed to assure maximum life and reliability of all mechanical/ electrical/plumbing systems. Typically, this position does not have a Chief Engineer on-site at the building and is sometimes the solo engineer at the building.
This position may also include the supervision of maintenance staff at the building depending on the size and complexity of the assignment.
- Apply knowledge and experience in the day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of all physical plant equipment under the Operations & Maintenance Department.
- Be able to take charge of a shift and make operating decisions without supervision.
- Responsible for knowing and following strict operating procedures for applicable equipment as trained.
- Follow the two‑man safety verification process.
- Learn plant systems and operating procedures for the main and auxiliary equipment of the physical plant.
- Basic computer skills required, including:
- Answering, composing, and sending emails
- Completing work orders in the client-based maintenance program
- Make designated operators’ rounds; document equipment-operating conditions; identify and report non-standard conditions.
- Monitor manufacturing and building systems and notify customer facilities when a system is not operating under normal conditions.
- Perform advanced preventative maintenance on selective equipment and contribute to root cause analysis on troubled equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in procedures and processes required to effectively test and analyze equipment and systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in a 24/7 operation (12‑hour shifts, holidays, and weekends); must be able to work adjusted shifts.
- Use hand tools, measuring instruments, and other equipment necessary to perform repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Follow emailed, written, and verbal instructions.
- Perform a variety of maintenance duties as assigned within a team‑oriented environment.
- Troubleshoot HVAC equipment (AHUs, FCUs, pumps, exhaust systems, etc.) to determine problems and perform necessary repairs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including snow removal, assisting other trades, and emergency repairs.
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to coordinate working conditions with planning personnel and track resources/expenditures for all work performed.
- Willing to work overtime as needed.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $32.30 - $38.00
