Traveling Code-Certified Welder (GTAW/GMAW/FCAW/SMAW)
Role Snapshot

Employment Type:

Fully travel-based field assignments across the United States Duration:
Open-ended projects (commonly 6+ months)
Pay: $38+/hr (experience and scope-dependent)
Per Diem: $125–$180/day, tax-free (varies by location)
Overtime:
Available based on client demand

Mileage: $0.725/mile to the job site (paid on first paycheck)

Must-Have Experience5+ years of verifiable welding experience: MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Flux-Core (FCAW), Stick (SMAW), Submerged Arc (SAW)
Current or previous certifications with the capacity to recertify

Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and welding symbols

Solid understanding of welding procedures (WPS), codes, and quality standards

Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys preferred

Heads up:
Many clients conduct weld tests onsite during day 1 or 2.What You’ll DoExecute MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, Stick, or Submerged Arc welds compliant with WPSFit and weld components to meet code and customer specifications

Interpret blueprints and symbols; coordinate with fabrication, quality, and engineering teams

Select equipment, consumables, and filler metals aligned with WPSPerform visual inspections; verify weld integrity against code and client requirements

Maintain precise documentation; uphold safety and quality standards

Preferred Background Aerospace, industrial, refinery, or power generation experience

Comfort with NDE methods: VT, PT, MT, RT, UTAbility to weld in multiple positions
