Power Plant Operator II (Night Shift) – Texas Behavioral Health Center, Dallas, Texas.

Texas Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking an experienced Power Plant Operator II, Night Shift to support the daily operation and maintenance of central plant equipment. The role performs journey‑level work with minimal supervision, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, water treatment systems, and building automation systems.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  Three (3) years of paid work experience in thermal power plant operations maintaining chillers, boilers, water treatment, and BAS. Additional related education may substitute for required experience.
• Preferred:
  Completion of a certified operator program and experience in a university physical plant environment. Certification may be obtained upon hire.
• Shift Requirement:
  Thursday start at 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM and return 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Thursday through Saturday, ending Sunday at 6:00 AM.
• Location:
  
  Dallas, Texas – onsite 100% of time.

• Start up, shut down, and adjust power plant and/or chilling station equipment or systems in accordance with established operational and safety procedures.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas. Monitor equipment and maintain records of operational status.
• Modify and change graphics as systems change and are upgraded.
• Operate control computer systems. Recognize and identify issues, troubleshoot and analyze problems based on equipment operation records.
• Perform detailed inspections of operating equipment for proper operation.
• Inform appropriate personnel of unusual conditions, problems or deficiencies.
• Identify and report safety hazards and equipment malfunctions.
• Supervise support staff as needed. Attend meetings and training courses. Train new personnel as required.
• Perform preventative or corrective maintenance tasks on mechanical or electrical systems.
• Complete work orders using automated maintenance program systems.
• Work with contractors on projects and other maintenance activities in the plant.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
