Position Summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Sweeping Crew member to perform advanced maintenance operations during the night shift in the Dallas & Fort Worth, TX area. This position is based in Grand Prairie, TX and requires performing a variety of tasks related to roadway maintenance, primarily roadway sweeping and debris removal. Occasionally, special events will require performing tasks related to snow and ice control, and incident response.

Adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures is required. Schedule flexibility is a must.

Required Experience:
  • Ability to work at varied heights
  • Exposure to using shovels, brooms, & various small hand tools
  • MOT (Traffic Control) certifications/courses
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
Preferred Experience:
  • Minimum 2years of related experience
  • Ability to operate equipment such as wheel loaders, skid steers, powered sweeping equipment (mechanical or vacuum)
  • CDL license a plus
  • Bilingual:
    English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required

Clean driving record is essential

Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
  • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
  • Carry out simple arithmetic functions
  • Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
  • Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
  • Ability to use smart phone and applications
  • Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
  • Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate hand/power tools
  • Ability to conduct routine maintenance/preventative maintenance on equipment (Greasing, equipment cleaning, etc)
  • Ability to follow directions from appointed supervisors
Schedule:

Full-time:
Sunday–Thursday, 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM, with someday and weekend work as needed. Must be able to work a rotating schedule and weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
