None
Responsible for assisting with operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.
Summary of Essential Responsibilities- Routine maintenance of all areas of assigned facility(s).
- As directed by Facilities Director, maintains general equipment, heating, air conditioning and plumbing in good working order.
- As directed by Facilities Director, maintains vehicles, repair logs and scheduling of routine vehicle maintenance.
- As directed by the Facilities Director, oversees the grounds, including mowing, irrigation and general upkeep of plantings and fences.
- Keeps current inventory of necessary program supplies and reports shortages to the Maintenance Manager.
- Must be eligible to be a “driver” for the SPCA of Texas and must perform “driver” duties as directed by the immediate Supervisor. Such “driver” duties may include, but not be limited to, driving a Van, Box Truck, MAV, or towing an ACI trailer, livestock trailer, or horse trailer.
- Represent the SPCA of Texas by providing excellent customer service and focus.
- Report to work at assigned start time; start/end breaks and lunch at assigned times. Leave work at end of assigned shift.
- Be able to respond to after-hours emergency call when needed.
- Assists with maintaining accurate records on departmental activities including work orders.
- Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored.
- Additional tasks assigned by Maintenance Manager.
- Actively engage with volunteers in such a way that provides support for our volunteers and staff and proactively improves our volunteer program.
- Be an ambassador for the SPCA of Texas, sharing the work and mission with your friends and family and be knowledgeable of the various ways to support our work.
- Static Strength:
The mobility and flexibility to use required equipment to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 60 pounds and to work in areas exposed to different weather conditions. - Judgment and Decision Making:
This position has the authority to make any decision that prevents harm to life or damage to property. - Oral and Written Expression:
Knowledge and ability to accurately work with detailed information in paper and computerized format. - Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Requirements:
Must demonstrate the Core Values of the SPCA of Texas on and off the job. - General knowledge and understanding of electricity, plumbing, carpentry methods, vehicle maintenance, and OSHA safety guidelines as they pertain to facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Follow the mission of the SPCA of Texas.
- Knowledge of SPCA of Texas policies and protocols, such as, but not limited to, adoption, cleaning and medical protocols.
- Must be 21years old to meet insurance requirements and must be qualified and licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Texas.
- Ability to represent the SPCA of Texas in a professional manner in all situations with the public, volunteers, and staff.
- Ability to create and sustain positive working relationships within the SPCA of Texas, with volunteers, the public, and be a team player.
- Must be patient, courteous and work well under stressful conditions.
- Ability to multi-task on a regular basis.
- Ability to learn and quickly adapt to changes in programs and procedures.
The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week. Shift times may vary and include weekend hours.
Applicant Information- Valid Texas Driver's License and must pass DMV check.
- TDLR HVAC Technician Certification (preferred but not required)
- EPA 608 Universal CFC card (preferred but not required)
- OSHA 10 card and NFPA 70E card (or be able to obtain these within 6 months of hire date). /li>
- A minimum of (5) day a week in the office provides the ideal combination of in-person collaboration and career development opportunities while still providing flexibility and a work-life balance.
Sunday through Thursday from 6am to 3pm (hours may be flexible)
