Responsibilities- Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment not covered under a service agreement with outside contractors.
- Repair or supervise repair of damaged or non‑functional equipment.
- Check maintenance request logs daily and complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Maintain building plumbing and electrical systems.
- Ensure all lights and fixtures are functional and properly covered.
- Ensure the physical plant meets or exceeds safety codes.
- Keep grounds and building clean, neat, and free of hazards.
- Schedule weekly inspections of client furniture for defects or damages.
- Maintain a list of maintenance supplies needed.
- Maintain inventory records of tools and supplies used for maintenance.
- Confirm all tools meet or exceed safety requirements.
- Request replacements for broken or damaged tools.
- Store tools and supplies properly each day.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the Maintenance Department.
- Be on call for after‑hours maintenance needs.
- Supervise volunteers assigned to maintenance.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor or Director of Operations.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Reliable transportation and current driver’s license.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in facility maintenance and repair work.
- If employed in a substance recovery program, at least one (1) year of continuous sobriety.
- Ability to perform general maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision.
- Ability to teach maintenance and repair techniques.
- Problem‑solving skills in unfamiliar situations with willingness to seek advice when needed.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Observes client confidentiality requirements.
- Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
- Good interpersonal relationship skills with clients and staff members.
- Performs duties and responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Maintains composure and directs problem situations calmly.
- Establishes and maintains rapport with clients.
- Motivates, confronts, and self‑discloses appropriately.
- Demonstrates warmth, realness, and empathy.
- Willing to upgrade knowledge and skills through continued education and training.
