  • Location: Camp Nett 38 Smith Street Niantic, CT 06357
  • Shift: Monday through Friday: 9:00 am through 1:00pm

We’re hiring Custodians to keep things clean and running smoothly. If you have never done this kind of work before, that’s totally fine—we’ll train you and make sure you feel confident every step of the way.

Responsibilities
  • Start your day by checking in with your supervisor and teammates to go over the cleaning plan and what needs to be done that day.
  • Grab cleaning supplies—such as mops, brooms, vacuums, and disinfectants—and load them up if needed.
  • Clean assigned areas: sweep, mop, vacuum floors; take out trash and replace bags; clean restrooms, refill supplies, and wipe down tables, chairs, doors, and other surfaces; dust furniture, shelves and vents; wipe windows, mirrors, and glass doors.
  • Before finishing the shift, walk through the area one last time to ensure everything is clean and neat.
  • Return tools and supplies to the storage area and prepare for the next shift.

Physical & Environmental Demands
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift.
  • Repetitive motions such as mopping, sweeping, wiping, and scrubbing surfaces.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning equipment and supplies weighing up to 25‑30 pounds regularly.
  • Navigate stairs, ramps, or uneven flooring safely while carrying tools or supplies.
  • Work is primarily indoors in commercial buildings with varying temperature and lighting conditions.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and solvents – training is provided to ensure safe handling, and PPE is always required.
  • Possible exposure to dust, dirt, allergens, and other typical indoor environmental factors.
  • May encounter biohazardous materials or bodily fluids with proper safety protocols and PPE in place.
  • Work in confined or awkward spaces such as under sinks, behind furniture, or inside equipment areas may be required.
  • Noise from vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and other cleaning machinery may be present; hearing protection provided when necessary.
