Position: Park Maintenance Worker (Semi Skilled Laborer)(Seasonal) - White Clay Creek State Park

Overview

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, White Clay Creek State Park is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Park Maintenance Worker.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a beautiful outdoor environment while contributing to the upkeep and maintenance of the park facilities and grounds.

In this position, you will be essential in maintaining cleanliness in park restrooms, managing waste by emptying trash bins, and collecting litter. You will also be tasked with mowing grass and trimming weeds, as well as cleaning drains and culverts. Your mowing duties will involve operating both small lawn tractors and larger tractors equipped with Brush Hog mowers.

Additionally, you will perform general maintenance and repairs on this equipment, keeping track of fuel usage and any maintenance or replacement parts needed. Operating a front-end loader will also be part of your role. Furthermore, you will engage in painting and staining tasks, construct and repair park signage, assist maintenance personnel with facility repairs, and conduct routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.

Schedule and Additional Information
  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026, through November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027.
  • Work shifts/days vary, will work 5 days/37.5 hours per week to include weekends and holidays if needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
