In this position, you will operate gas‑fired boilers, oil‑fired boilers, and their auxiliary equipment to provide steam needed for heat and hot water. You will serve as the lead worker by providing leadership during your shift. Your work will involve recording fuel consumption, adjusting firing controls, and maintaining records. You will also inspect the boilers to detect any possible difficulties. Some of your duties will include making adjustments to boilers and their equipment, completing preventative maintenance work orders, and operating heavy equipment.
Additionally, you will make sure that the maintenance staff follow pre‑established standard operating procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Sunday – Saturday. Your schedule will be determined and may change based on operational needs.

- One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);
or - One year of semi‑skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment;
or - An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semi‑skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
