General Maintenance Worker

Job description

KW Danville LLC is a wholesale greenhouse facility; we maintain over 36 acres under a greenhouse roof as well as 20+ acres of open space outdoors. Our maintenance team is the backbone to our facility and performs many tasks as needed or assigned. These tasks include controlling the environment of each house via fans, curtains and ventilation, water flow and pressure needs, a preventative maintenance program, repairs on our potting lines and other equipment to allow our teams to meet their rates with minimal downtime during production hours and maintain a healthy environment for our plants to ensure top quality.

• Must possess knowledge in the repairs of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances, boilers, etc.
• Ensures that work order requests are responded to and resolved in an efficient and prompt manner.
• A candidate must be able to write clearly and communicate effectively.
• Organize, prioritize, and ensure requests and repairs are made correctly and in a timely manner.
• Cleaning: must be willing.
• Boiler knowledge a plus, but we will teach the right candidates.
• Inspect grounds, buildings, and other features daily to minimize liability concerns and always ensure a positive working environment and curb appeal.
• The candidate must possess a high standard of work quality.
• Ensure adherence to the company's safety and hazard communications, policies, and procedures.
• Must maintain a professional demeanor.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Other tasks or duties assigned by the Manager.
• Snow removal and seasonal groundskeeping are mandatory across the team.
• Work well as part of a team or motivated to work individually without distracting or interrupting other teams or individuals working in that area.

This position is primarily indoors in a greenhouse environment. Varying degrees of temperatures include high humidity, hot environments, and traveling outdoors between facilities throughout the year. Fluency to read, write and understand the English language is required. Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Ability to use fine motor skills.

Must be able to lift to 35 lbs. repetitively for full shift without assistance.

Rate of Pay: $17.96
