We are looking for a dynamic individual to be a part of our team for the position of Dietary Aide.
Reporting to the Manager of Food and Nutrition Services, the Dietary Aide provides quality meal service for the residents, special functions and special occasions at various sites.
Responsibilities:
Prepares beverages, food items and special products according to job routinesProvides efficient dining room service, including set up, serving, and sanitation in the decentralized dining sites and portioning, labelling, distribution, delivery and presentation of desserts, beverages, special products and suppliesPrepares food products, drinks and other related items according to established standards including menus, recipes, volumes and job routinesProvides quality table service to the residents ensuring diet modifications and supplements as indicatedCo-operates and converses with the resident’s nursing RNCL;
Reports any concerns to the Food Service Supervisor.Cleans and sets up tables in the dining sites, strips dishes and delivers to and from the utility area and respective dining room, or effectively operates dish machines at unit levelMaintains a high level of sanitation, both personal and in the entire work areaOperates, maintains and sanitizes all food service equipment using HACCP PrinciplesAccommodates requests from various service sites via the intercom system, walkie-talkie/ two- way radio or telephone, and responds appropriately providing quality meal serviceEnsures accurate portion sizes and prompt distribution of prepared foods for delivery to designated service areas and replenishes these items during meal service as necessaryParticipates in Nourishment preparation and deliveryEnsures delivery of food and supply items to work areas as scheduledPortions, labels, maintains, stores and serves foods in a manner that ensures maximal nutritional value, food safety and a quality standard of presentationPerforms established procedures for stock control and rotationPractices effective waste and cost controls habits where possible without affecting quality assuranceMaintains table dressings and appearance in the Dining RoomsAssists with and performs other related duties as may be requestedQualifications:
High School diploma or equivalentTwo to three years food service experience preferably in a long term health care facilityCertificate in Food Service Workers Course considered an assetBasic Food Safety Certification considered an assetExperience working with the elderly within a decentralized meal service system considered an assetMust be able to lift 50lbs at a timeAbility to maintain regular and consistent attendanceStart Date:
Immediately
Hours of Work: 84 Hours Biweekly (12 Hour shifts)
Salary/Benefits: As Per Unifor Collective Agreement.
