Amentum is seeking a Facility Maintenance Supervisor to join our 3rd Shift Facility Maintenance team in Davenport IA!
Typical work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 11:00 pm – 7:30 am.; hours may vary based on business demand. Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation.
The Facility Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the company’s buildings, facilities, and equipment in an operating and functional condition.
Duties may include any of the following: electrical repairs or installations, fleet repairs, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting and plastering, masonry, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance (e.g., heating, ventilating, air conditioning or HVAC and sheet metal).
Responsibilities- Supervise day‑to‑day maintenance operations within a high‑ops tempo 24/7 production environment
- Coordinate and schedule workload to hourly wage employees on non‑routine and self‑directed tasks
- Effectively communicate with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve complex problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems to meet client needs
- Exhibit strong leadership skills, such as motivation, delegation, ownership, leading by example, well‑developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills, etc.
- Exhibit a positive attitude about the project and the company
- Provide support to develop strategies that create processes/programs able to sustain low operating costs
- Perform evaluations and train teams to identify and eliminate waste, reduce operating/maintenance costs and reduce system failures
- Perform preventative maintenance on as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Identify and document cost savings and activities to improve maintenance and equipment performance
- Create and modify site operations procedures for equipment and recommend reliability improvements
- Develop, present, and manage compliance to key performance indicators
- Respond to and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
- Understand company policies and demonstrate ability to identify and correct safety‑related issues. Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required
- Maintain a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrate flexibility in the day‑to‑day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer
- Manage the operation and complete tasks to the satisfaction of the client, consistent with cost, schedule, and contractual requirements
- Leverage leadership and organizational management skills to ensure the success of business expansion
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent
- Five (5) or more years of experience in a maintenance environment
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre‑employment substance abuse test
- May require a valid Driver’s License
- Does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization
- Requires ability to obtain a security access badge at the client’s location
- May require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules
- Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
- Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift
- Requires flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repeatedly during shift
- Requires the ability to regularly kneel repeatedly for shift
- Requires the ability to move in a 90‑degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift
- Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift
- Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
- Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife
- Requires ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color‑coding
- Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement
