Custodian

Custodian – 8 hours/day

Location:

West High School

Shift: 3:15 PM – 11:45 PM

Internal Bids through: 7/14/2026 @ 4:00 PM.

New Hire Entry Level Rate: $18.17 per hour. Current employees with seniority in the bargaining unit, please refer to the Salary Schedule established by the bargaining unit.

• Restroom duties: picking up large items off the floor
• Replenishing supplies
• Cleaning restrooms with Kai‑Vac according to district guidelines
• Cleaning/sanitizing door handles, push plates, partitions, doors, and hardware
• Dust mopping and auto‑scubbing halls; wet mopping under benches, etc., in halls
• Wet mopping areas as assigned
• Assisting with deep cleaning during break periods – stripping, scrubbing & re‑coating, cleaning restrooms, glass, and furniture
• Snow removal
• Minor grounds keeping
• Lawn mowing
• Assisting with delivery of supplies
• Properly maintaining equipment
• Reporting maintenance issues to Head & Lead Custodian
• Performing other duties as assigned

• Ability to lift & carry up to 56 lb.
• Ability to climb up to an 8‑ft ladder and perform custodial tasks such as cleaning light fixtures.
• Ability to climb steps and work on uneven ground.
• Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.

• Must have a high school degree or GED.
