Job Summary
Custodian/Sr.Custodian This position will perform a variety of tasks included but not limited to cleaning, housekeeping and custodial duties in a hospital, clinic, hotel, or college campus environment. May be required to clean buildings, offices, patient rooms, various campus facilities, restrooms, lounges, dormitories, classrooms, auditoriums, sports facilities, hallways, exterior/other designated areas, and/or general maintenance throughout the UC Davis Campus, working independently or as part of a team ensuring building security.
Minimum Qualifications- Skills performing custodial work and/or floor care equipment skills
- Knowledge of basic materials and equipment used in custodial work.
- Knowledge of cleaning solvents, soaps, waxes, and other related chemicals used in custodial work.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of custodial procedures and techniques.
- Knowledge of determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Ability to follow all health and safety policies/procedures.
- Ability to learn and practice all security procedures related to unlocking, locking, and securing of buildings and keys.
- Ability to resolve customers' concerns in a timely manner.

- May work with or be exposed to very sick patients and hazardous wastes (e.g., blood, body fluids, biohazard, pharmacy waste, chemo waste, needles and other sharp waste)
- Must be available to work variable shifts: days/hours (weekends, holidays, overtime, etc.) and float to other units/areas/buildings.
- May work alone in buildings; in isolated areas; travel from building to building at night; and /or in a building with heavy traffic.
