Position SnapshotA Maintenance Planner/Scheduler uses Maximo, Insteel’s CMMS, to create, update, plan, and assign maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment. The role supports a demanding production schedule, ensures parts are available, and may lead the department in the manager’s absence.
- Plans and schedules all maintenance corrective and preventative activities
- Utilizes CMMS (Maximo) as a force multiplier through intuitive and creative scheduling
- Collaborates with the maintenance team to create detailed job plans using CMMS and Microsoft products
- Requisition s materials necessary for plant equipment repair and compliance
- Handles purchasing responsibilities as needed
- Organizes planned equipment shutdowns in conjunction with production schedules
- Ensures preventive maintenance and work order compliance
- Interprets blueprints and drawings for part identification and preventive maintenance construction
- Coordinates all preventive maintenance activities for new equipment added to the plant
- Assumes a supervisory role on an as‑needed basis
- Creates and monitors machine history for predictive failures
- Coordinates outside contractor schedules to meet project completion dates
- Schedules and coordinates all shutdown activities and works with storeroom personnel to ensure all necessary parts are staged
- Submits recommendations for MRO stocking level changes to the Purchasing Manager
- Professional or technical degree in a relevant field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of work-related experience with Maximo or another CMMS system, or a combination of education and experience
- Strong computer and CMMS proficiency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
