Furniture Repair and Refinish Technician

Do you like to work with your hands building or repairing things? Have you built wood shelves or refinished furniture? Do you think you can reupholster your favorite lounge chair and don’t mind working alone? If the answer is yes, then Havertys Furniture has the perfect position for you!

$20 - $30 an hour, based on experience.

Tues­day – Saturday. 8‑hour days.

• Visit customers’ homes and repair merchandise (furniture, upholstery, cabinets, leather, etc.) using methods and materials such as burn‑in soft fill, Bondo, dry powders for color, aerosol lacquers, shading lacquers, buffing fine scratches from dressers, nightstands, tabletops, and gluing and clamping components (training provided).
• Drive company‑provided technician van to customer homes and return it to the store after each shift.
• Evaluate furniture repairs and actions needed to satisfy our customers.
• Represent Havertys Furniture professionally while inspecting the furniture in customers’ homes.
• Create accurate on‑site home reports with photos and descriptions of damaged merchandise for the Customer Service team to review.
• Inspect and maintain the service van and tools in good condition.

• Furniture Repair and Refinish Technicians earn $20 - $30 per hour.

• Must be 21 and have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Must have a clean driving record with minimal moving violations.
• Must be able to achieve DOT certification (company paid).
• High school graduate or GED; technical school graduates preferred.
• Proven ability to work with hands, build and repair with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Candidates must successfully complete a physical assessment to be considered for the position.
• Able to communicate effectively using speech and customer service skills.
• Must pass background requirements and drug screen including THC testing.

• Work from the service truck and visit customers’ homes, Tuesday – Saturday, 8‑hour days.
• Must wear proper Havertys‑provided uniforms, steel‑toed work boots, and safety gear when applicable. Return the service vehicle to the store each night.

• Must successfully complete a physical assessment to be considered for the position.
• Must be able to move up to 90 pounds, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling furniture.
• The role involves driving, entering customers’ homes, and handling materials.
