Job Description
** The Opportunity
** Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a skilled Painter to join the Facilities team in Daytona Beach, Florida. This position is responsible for performing interior and exterior painting, finishing, and surface preparation work to maintain the appearance, safety, and functionality of university buildings and facilities. The Painter supports routine maintenance, renovations, and special projects across academic, residential, and administrative spaces while delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Facilities staff and other campus departments to help maintain a safe, attractive, and welcoming campus environment.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Perform interior and exterior painting, staining, coating, and finishing work on university facilities.
* Prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming to ensure quality finishes.
* Inspect, maintain, and repair painted surfaces, including touch-ups and minor repairs.
* Safely operate and maintain painting equipment, ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and related tools.
* Follow all safety procedures and regulations related to paints, coatings, chemicals, and equipment.
* Collaborate with Facilities personnel and communicate professionally with faculty, staff, and students.
* Maintain painting supplies, equipment, and work areas.
* Assist with campus beautification projects, event support, and special maintenance initiatives.
* Support other Facilities trades with basic maintenance tasks as needed.
* Complete work orders and other duties as assigned
