HVAC Technician II​/Lab Assistant

High School Diploma or GED

Must hold a Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certificate (EPA)

Minimum of five years work experience in the air conditioning/refrigeration industry

Grant Funded Position – Continued Employment Pending Grant Renewal

Supervise and assist in training of students; assist students in safe operation of lab equipment during lab projects in compliance with College rules and guidelines; monitor students and lab activities for any safety/security violations and report issues to supervisor.

Prepare/set up lab for coursework as requested by Faculty.

Maintain equipment and supplies for area of responsibility; order new materials under supervisor's direction.

Periodically clean and check lab equipment to ensure optimal functioning.

Requires light work that involves walking or standing most of the time, exerting up to 40 pounds of force on a recurring basis and routine bending and climbing.

Must be able to work from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. four nights per week for a total of 20 hours per week.
