Position Summary
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities equipment or fixtures.
- Follow established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines.
- Inspect, clean, and repair facilities equipment or fixtures; observe and document signs of wear and tear.
- Gather capital expense information; recommend repair and replacement needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs.
- Document preventive maintenance activities and determine replacement needs.
- Perform major and minor repairs on facilities equipment or fixtures using plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, or food equipment skills.
- Dismantle equipment or machines to access and remove defective parts and diagnose issues.
- Utilize blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary; use hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment.
- Provide prompt response to emergency calls and document repair activities.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors; complete required written and electronic information (expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work order logs).
- Conduct price comparison of parts and travel-related costs; order parts and replacement equipment.
- Track orders, record purchases, and usage; submit warranty claims.
- Comply with OSHA and EPA regulations and ensure quality work meets federal, state, and local requirements.
- Ensure contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and contract specifications.
- Identify and report deficiencies; unload and store equipment and transport equipment between facilities.
- Demonstrate up‑to‑date expertise and advise others in applying best practices to support business needs.
- Build relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identify business needs and implement solutions.
- Monitor progress and recognize improvement opportunities; adapt to competing demands and organizational changes.
- Model compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, ethics, and integrity.
- Support Walmart’s Open Door Policy and assist others in applying these principles to business processes.
- Promote a positive associate and customer/member experience; embrace diversity and inclusion.
- Develop others through feedback, coaching, mentoring, and developmental opportunities.

- Vocational or technical certification and 3 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
- Or 5 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Eligibility for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
- License in related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
