The Facilities & Property Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the company's facilities, grounds, equipment, and overall property appearance to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment. This position coordinates preventive maintenance activities, performs general building repairs, oversees facility cleanliness standards, and supervises the Facility Cleaning Attendant. The role serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day facility needs and assists with identifying and coordinating larger repair projects with outside vendors when necessary.
EssentialFunctions
- Perform routine facility inspections and identify maintenance needs.
- Complete general building repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain facility systems including lighting, doors, docks, dock seals, loading areas, HVAC, refrigeration support equipment, and other building components.
- Coordinate and document preventative maintenance schedules for facility equipment and systems.
- Oversee building appearance and functionality throughout office, warehouse, terminal, and driver areas.
- Supervise the Facility Cleaning Attendant and ensure cleanliness standards are maintained throughout all assigned areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of facility maintenance and cleaning supplies.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services; perform minor plumbing, painting, carpentry, and handyman-related repairs.
- Maintain exterior property conditions including grounds, walkways, parking areas, snow removal, and ice control.
- Inspect building structures and report recommendations for repairs, replacements, or capital improvements.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and inspection logs.
- Support facility-related projects, office moves, equipment installations, and workspace modifications.
- Respond to facility emergencies and urgent maintenance issues as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; required.
Experience: 1+ years of maintenance required; 1+ years of sit-down forklift experience preferred; some janitorial experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance practices, and general repair techniques. Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment. Basic understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
