SALARY/PAY RATE: $24.00-$32.00 /Hour
DESCRIPTION:
AHeavy Equipment Operator/ Driver is responsible for the service, maintenance,and responsible operation for all tribally owned Heavy Equipment and vehicles,as well as any machinery or tools that need to be rented or leased to accomplish any tasks required by specific jobs. Applicants meeting the minimum qualifications must be able to work independently as well as with co-workers.
Primary Responsibilities:RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform daily inspection ofall equipment before use.
- Ensure that regular maintenance is performed and is documented.
- Comply with all safety policies of the tribe and state.
- Ensure proper usage of allmachinery, equipment, and tools per their intended use.
- Welding and fabrication
- Basic mechanical work
- Some woodworking
- Chainsaw operation and maintenance including safe tree felling.

Skills &Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or a GED equivalent
- Possession of a valid Statedrivers and class A or B CDL
- Experience in measuring and estimatingmaterials.
- No tolerance policy-includingTHC
Bi-yearly random drug tests will be required and any traffic violations, civil or criminal, mustbe reported to your supervisor and or fleet manager immediately. Failure tocomply will be grounds for termination.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimumof 2 years’ experience operating heavy equipment
- Knowledge of basicmaintenance of heavy equipment
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, air brakes and other heavy equipment related systems.
- Experience with pipe fitting,ditch digging, road and other large construction projects.
- Ability to work independently and effectively.
- Ability to manage time andmeet all specified deadlines.
- Able to understand and implement all assigned tasks.
- Ability to comprehend all policies and procedures of LVD.
- Knowledge of DOT, state, andtribal safety procedures and guidelines as it pertains to equipment and site-specific applications.
- Certified in CPR and firstaid.
