Floor Care / Porter – Full-Time

We are committed to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, families, visitors, and team members.

We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Floor Care / Porter to join our Environmental Services team and help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our Independent Living buildings.

Schedule

Full-Time Position

  • Monday & Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Position Overview

The Floor Care / Porter is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and attractive floors and common areas throughout our Independent Living buildings. This position plays an important role in creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for our residents, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and scheduled floor care, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, and waxing floors in hallways, dining areas, and common spaces

  • Safely operate commercial floor care equipment, including buffers, auto-scrubbers, and other cleaning equipment

  • Empty trash, replace liners, and assist with removal of bulk waste

  • Respond promptly to housekeeping requests and facility needs

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of utility rooms and storage areas

  • Assist with light maintenance support and setup tasks as needed (such as moving furniture or preparing spaces)

  • Follow all safety, infection prevention, and sanitation policies and procedures

  • Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with residents, visitors, and staff

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Previous experience in floor care, housekeeping, environmental services, hotel, healthcare, or senior living preferred

  • Ability to safely operate commercial cleaning equipment

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with strong attention to detail

  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Professional and respectful communication skills when working with residents and staff

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods
