Industrial Maintenance Technician II - Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Conduct planned preventive maintenance inspections and perform required actions (lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.) as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Review and submit work order updates to the planner/scheduler.
• Safely perform functions of the position following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout procedures, and wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Operate a variety of equipment including hand tools, diagnostic hardware, a laptop computer, and a PC with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Read, mathematics, and basic tools competency meeting the college’s requirements.
• Follow the apprenticeship curriculum, a mix of classroom education and hands‑on industry experience.
• Be available to work any shift/hours during the apprenticeship work phase and willing to work overtime when required.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Pass a pre‑employment substance abuse test (qualified applicants).
• Provide a valid driver’s license (if required).
• Obtain a security access badge at the client’s location (if required).

• Knowledge of basic repair theory.
• Knowledge of basic electrical theory.
• Mechanical skills sufficient to assist with and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to facility related equipment.
• Experience safely utilizing a wide variety of hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and email.

• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least ten times during a shift.
• Regularly bend/stoop, squat, move in a 90‑degree fashion, stretch/reach repetitively during a shift.
• Walk extensively throughout the plant during a shift.
• Use a company or client‑approved utility knife.
• Differentiate colors related to wire color‑coding.
• Attend to repetitive wrist movements as required.
• Interact professionally and friendly with all clients despite periods of stress.
• Wear steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other personal protective equipment as needed.

$23-$32 per hour (or equivalent). Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
