Job Description

Service Mechanic
- Decatur, IL

This is a full-time, hourly, 2nd or 3rd shift position.

Potential assignments may include, but are not limited to:

* Perform preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers

* Certification of performing A/C freon recovery and recharging, perform repairs on A/C

* Perform brake repairs

* Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems

* Mount and dismount tires

* Perform diagnostics with laptop computer

* Component replacement starters, alternators, and batteries

* Cosmetic repairs, decals, reflective tape, fenders, and bumpers

* Pressure test hydraulic systems and hose replacement

* Perform Annual DOT inspections on tractors and trailers

* Rebuild components

* Follow and promote safe work environment.

* Maintain a good attendance record. (No more than 3 days unexcused absent in calendar year).

* Maintain good communications with all Trucking personnel.

* Ability to work well with others.

* Maintains good housekeeping.

* Ability to understand and perform assigned job tasks easily within employee's classification.

* Perform job task within job standard time of classification.

* Ability to perform job tasks by understanding and following work procedures.

* Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems that apply to employee's classification.

* Ability to pass all test required of classification.
