Job SummaryGeneral work in patrolling and enforcing rules in City parks. Work is performed under general supervision. This position works up to 29 hours per week, 2:30 pm – 11 pm Friday – Sunday and all City Holidays.
Responsibilities- Knowledge of City ordinances, Florida state parking statutes.
- Knowledge of parks and recreation rules and regulations.
- Ability to write and speak effectively.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates and to the general public.
- Ability to demonstrate keen powers of observation and physical ability.
- Skills in communication and public relations.
- Ability to use tablet, computer, and other office equipment.
- High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Two (2) years recreation or related experience.
- Valid Florida Driver's License and clean driving record.
Applicants applying for positions within the Parks and Recreation Department that involve working with vulnerable populations, including children, the elderly, or individuals with disabilities, will be required to participate in the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse as a condition of employment.
The City of Delray Beach is required by law to utilize the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse for employment screening purposes, in accordance with Section 435.12, Florida Statutes.
