Maintenance Supervisor
Denison, IA | $80,000 to $100,000 plus bonus
This Maintenance Supervisor role leads maintenance teams responsible for the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of critical equipment across the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse of a USDA regulated food manufacturing facility in Denison, IA. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in minimizing mechanical downtime and maximizing production efficiency across the facility's key processes.
Schedule:
1st and 2nd shift. May require occasional long hours and weekend work depending on plant needs.
Compensation: $80,000 to $100,000, plus bonus.
What You'll DoThe Maintenance Supervisor leads teams of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance and machine repairs, and trains employees on proper work methods and safety procedures. This person supervises and supports maintenance systems, processes, and documentation, and ensures maintenance is scheduled in coordination with Production to address equipment and facility repairs in a timely manner. The role includes developing and implementing maintenance systems such as Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOPs, and safety programs, and providing both long term solutions and day to day support for troubleshooting, problem analysis, and equipment failures.
The Maintenance Supervisor develops and maintains key performance indicators to track supplier performance, contractor performance, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness, and provides regular status reports to the maintenance management team. This person ensures all maintenance tasks comply with USDA regulations, maintains accurate records of maintenance work and inventory, and supports employee development and coaching as part of day to day leadership.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university in Engineering or a related field, plus 2+ years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience training, coaching, or mentoring less experienced staff, or managing a process or project
- Ability to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts on high level process issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Good planning and priority setting skills
- Advanced technical skills in ammonia refrigeration, high pressure boilers, compressed air systems, and mechanical/electrical fields (including PLCs, instrumentation, and mechanical engineering)
- Experience leading resource planning efforts in a large manufacturing environment
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, and inventory or scheduling software
- Strong leadership skills, including conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision making, and delegation
- Bilingual
- Base salary of $80,000 to $100,000, plus bonus
