Lead Sales Trainer (Retirement Plans)

Job Family:

- Define, create, and deliver training programs to meet learning and development needs of business units and develop instructor materials and assessments.
- Lead the design and development of new hire training and facilitate program delivery to virtual and external RVPs, internal wholesalers, sales desk assistants, account managers, etc.
- Provide ongoing training for new products, systems, and processes to ensure sales teams are equipped to succeed.
- Design, develop, and facilitate ongoing training to continually improve sales skills (e.g., relationship selling, decision‑making styles, customer‑centric language).
- Design, develop, and facilitate leadership development training for management across distribution channels.
- Identify appropriate content for LMS, evaluate existing content for e‑learning module development.
- Serve as a mentor to trainers, conduct informal quality assurance and share best practices.
- Evaluate participant and manager evaluations to measure training effectiveness with focus on long‑term behavioral implementation and business impact.
- Provide focused training to select groups as requested.
- Attend meetings with Sales Desk team, AVPs, marketing partners, vendors to develop sales strategies, materials, and messaging.
- Support building a learning and development bench of talent through training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience.
- Seven years of learning and development experience.
- Deep industry and product knowledge in specialty areas (retirement, mutual fund, annuity, life, employee benefits).
- Knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Advanced documentation and technical writing skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work both independently and on a team.
- Ability to incorporate creative and innovative solutions in a learning environment.
- Project management skills.
- Advanced proficiency using MS Office tools.
- Training experience in the financial services industry, especially retirement plans.
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Certified Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS).
- Instructional design experience.
- Computer application software knowledge (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, CoPilot) preferred.
- Hybrid office environment: three days in office at Denver office.
- Occasional travel
