What this job involves:
As an Operating Engineer at JLL, you will be a technical specialist responsible for the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and repair of critical facility equipment and systems. This role requires you to demonstrate expertise in one specialized craft area while maintaining multi-skilled capabilities across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and central utility plant operations. You will ensure all building systems operate at optimal performance levels while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards that support JLL's commitment to exceptional facility management and client service.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to maintain facility standards
Execute preventative maintenance programs including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize HVAC systems and associated equipment performance
Record equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of all facility systems
Review monthly client service request summaries to identify and resolve recurrent operational problems
Monitor and evaluate vendor and supplier performance regarding quality standards and competitive pricing
Verify accuracy of deliveries including count, pricing, and product descriptions
Conduct periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory to ensure operational readiness
Required Qualifications:
Technical expertise in at least one craft area:
Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations
Multi-skilled capabilities across various building systems and equipment types
Experience with facility services, preventative maintenance, and inventory control processes
Knowledge of safety protocols for hazardous material storage, usage, and disposal
Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems
Understanding of quality control processes and vendor management
Capability to work independently and complete daily/weekly work assignments effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or formal training in building systems maintenance and operations
Experience with building automation systems and control technologies
Background in contractor oversight and maintenance work quality monitoring
Knowledge of industry standards and building codes for facility operations
Experience with purchasing processes and cost management for maintenance operations

Estimated compensation for this position:
72,800. USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
