Earthwork Laborer

Compensation

$21.11 to $34.90 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and preparing the job site including removal of debris, garbage, and trees.
  • Operating water truck.
  • Loading and unloading building materials.
  • Operating a variety of tools and machines such as blowtorch, jackhammer, level, lift, power drill, grinder, saw, pressure washer, and water spraying equipment.
  • Caring for tools used on construction sites and keeping them in safe and clean working order.
  • Safely operating equipment and vehicles if needed.
  • Understanding surveying principles and reading stakes.
  • Understanding and carrying out instructions.
  • Maintaining records.
  • Maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Checking primary email on a regular basis for any communication from the company, as this is the company’s primary mode of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Dependable with a good attendance record and willingness to adapt to scheduling needs.
  • Self‑motivated with ability to take the lead on assignments as well as follow instructions and work within parameters of excellence established by leadership.
  • Good safety history and willingness to engage in ongoing safe work practices, including use of PPE, and ability to perform physical and manual work such as digging, shoveling, and operating power tools.
  • Top‑notch communication skills with ability to effectively, respectfully, and positively interact with supervisors, team members, and subcontractors.
  • Consistent access to reliable personal email account.
Education and/or Experience

Preferred:
High School diploma or GED.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on various terrain, including slopes and uneven ground, and regularly push, pull, shovel, bend to pick up, and lift items 25 to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
  • Outside work exposed to variant weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow) and muddy ground conditions.
